“Who plants a plant, Plants a hope.” – Lucy Larcom
STDi is in its second year of Project Nash, i.e., Nature Preservation and Income Generation in collaboration with SAVE Foundation & JEW for the Tribals of Yercaud. (Its aim is to develop a sustainable livelihood option to the tribal Malayali community, to increase Greenery in the locality and to promote an organic farming culture in the region among the tribals in particular and other people in general). On 21st February, 2021, STDi conducted a training program in Melpiliyur village. Training started with a small prayer. Orientation about the project (NaSH) and its proceedings were given to the beneficiaries. Then the session was conducted on How to do plantation, Methods of planting, Cover changing method, Soil types, and different type of plantation. Trainees participated eagerly even though the weather was not conducive for such training. After the tea break, Recap was done by the trainer. Trainees were given grow bags and seedlings. They will grow plants in their home. After the production of the plant, the STDi, i.e., REO Nursery will buy the plants from them and create Market Avenue for the Tribals.
