SHEVAROYHILLS DON BOSCO YOUTH COLLECTIVE (SDBYC) ORGANIZES DON BOSCO FOOTBALL ROLLING TROPHY

Yercaud (Tiruchy): Shevaroyhills Don Bosco Youth Collective (SDBYC) rolled out its first edition of Don Bosco Football Rolling Trophy. It is decided to be organized before the feast of Don Bosco and it is the initiative of the youth from Manjakuttai, one of the villages in the hills. SDBYC organized its first edition on 29 and 30th January 2021.

The members of SDBYC raise money and take care of the entire tournament, in which the cash prizes are Rs 10,000, Rs 7000, Rs 3000, Rs 2000. The professional referees come from District Football Association. The tournament got around 30 teams and they have plans to increase and open up to other teams. The young people have drawn up vision, mission and objectives too.

VISION: To enhance, empower, educate and employ the young people of Shevaroyhills through sports, particularly through football.

MISSION: Organize Don Bosco Tournament every year at Retreat – Don Bosco, Yercaud by the organizing committee and the organizing committee

• OBJECTIVES
  – To coach the youth in a better way and enhance their skills.
  – To offer regular motivation, team spirit and oneness with the people living in Shevaroyhills and represent the people of the mountain.
  – To identify the young people who are talented and encourage for sports related studies.
  – To invite selectors from various oragnizations such as bank, railways and divisional teams in order to give chances for our youth to join various organizers and an employer playing for a team.
• The winners were the special guests for Don Bosco feast celebrated in the community along with panchayat president and its ward members. There were 15 youth representatives of winning team among other 250 guests and well-wishers of the community.
